I'll give you a hint.
It starts with "b"...
end ends with "ird necklace."
I've been working here since September — but today's the first day the bird has shown her fowl little face. So far, I've received one compliment ("cool necklace!") and some stares. I asked one of the starers, a guy named Scott, if he was captivated by necklace. His only response: yeah... I was looking at your necklace. I suppose his stopping there was his way of staying neutral?
My boss said the necklace is "interesting" and that it almost looks like two birds. She also asked, "Um... what's the significance?" (I think she wanted to know why I would don such a bizarre piece of jewelry). I told her it was a flea market victory.
See what happened when Megan and Julia each wore the necklace
here and
here. If you're a friend of mine and you want to borrow the necklace, let me know. It adds a little variety to the work day -- that's for sure.

Could you imagine the looks I'd get wearing this with my suits? My coworkers ALWAYS comment on what I'm wearing, so I'm sure borrowing this piece would turn into a wild experience.
I could drop it in the mail pretty easily...
Just imagine the looks I'D get if I wore it to my office. Actually, seeing a I have seen everything from workout pants to a suit, I doubt anyone would notice...
although Lindsay might ask some uncomfortable questions!

Greg, your comment REALLY made me laugh!
uh oh! hello little birdy!!!
Thanks! We have a really casual office, sometimes a bit TOO casual...
I love that necklace! I always think it's hilarious when something not-too-out there freaks people out. And then again I'm always surprised when I wear something outlandish and people actually like it.
Cath, I think you should borrow it... :)
Yea, I think the bird may need to migrate to MI for the summer. Once I get a job up there, I may need to wait a while for folks to pick up on my (er) quirkiness and then I will hit them with the bird. I think I should rock it one more time for Travelers-Alpharetta. Of course, that could hurt or help my referral chances. Totaly worth it.
Jules, it's on loan to a friend named Erica for the next few weeks, so I may not be able to give to you before you leave. The migration is an EXXXCELLENT idea!
but Julia there is a sweeet cat necklace for you to wear.
Fab-u-lous!! I think we all need a bird necklace in our collection. I'm obsessed and may need to borrow at some point, of course after I send you my fish necklace to rock :)
Marissa - we may just have to do a little funky necklace swap. I'm liking where this is going! Fish necklace? I need to know more!
OMG - That is almost the perfect antidote to a bad day at work. Think about it, you have a really nasty day at work and you dread having to go back the next day...because it was that nasty...and so, to bring in some humor...wear that. No one can piss you off with that around your neck.
It's so true, Lindsay.
Where this thing and how can you NOT feel like a million bucks??? Not to mention be in a better mood...
